افتتاح السنة الدراسية الجديدة 2018 - 2019

 

ها هي التلة البلمندية تتزين بحلتها البهية في المطلع من أيلول كما يحدث في كل عام، لتفوح عطر قداسة وفرح.

فقد تم يوم الإثنين في الثالث من شهر أيلول لعام 2018 ببركة ورعاية أبينا صاحب الغبطة يوحنا العاشر، بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق، افتتاح السنة الدراسية الجديدة لعام 2018-2019 في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي. وتم ذلك في كنيسة دير سيدة البلمند، حيث ترأس صاحب السيادة المتروبوليت أفرام، راعي أبرشية طرابلس والكورة وتوابعهما، صلاة الغروب، وذلك بحضور قدس المتقدم في الكهنة بورفيريوس جرجي عميد المعهد اللاهوتي وكهنة وأساتذة المعهد وطلابه والعاملين حشد من المؤمنين.

وتوجه صاحب السيادة بكلمة إلى الحاضرين شدّد فيها على ضرورة أن يقوم طلّاب اللاهوت بالتعلّم جيداً، وذلك باكتساب العلوم الكنسيّة اللاهوتيّة والتدريب وعيش الخبرة اللاهوتيّة من خلال الصلاة والصوم والاعتراف، منوهًا إلى المسؤولية الكبيرة الواقعة على كاهل طالب اللاهوت في ظل وجود تيار إلحادي في العالم اليوم.

وبعد صلاة الغروب أقيمت صلاة تقديس الماء في المعهد، وكان هناك كلمة توجيهية وترحيبيّة من عميد المعهد، نقل فيها بركة ومحبة صاحب الغبطة البطريرك يوحنا العاشر، وأوضح فيها أن تعليم الإيمان المستقيم هو لاهوت الآباء وخبرتهم في معرفة الحقائق الالهية وعيشها والشهادة بالقول والفعل لقوة قيامة المخلص في حياتنا. الانسان المسيحي مدعو لتحدي عزلة فرديته عبر الولوج إلى الكنيسة وحياة الشركة، وهو قادر بمعونة الروح القدس الذي يسكن في قلبه أن ينغرس في جسد المسيح فيضحى حجرا حيًا في بيت الله. يدخل في شركة مع سحابة الشهود في كل العصور ويصير هو نفسه كنيسة المسيح.

وأكد منذ تأسيسه إلى اليوم ،يسعى معهد اللاهوت في البلمند بكل امكاناته الى مساعدة خدام الكنيسة المكرسين والمعلمين فيها في امانة في التسلّم والتسليم وبروح انفتاح بحسب الانجيل ترحب بالحوار مع الآخر وتفتح أمام الطلاب دروب العلم.

ثم التأم الأساتذة والطلاب والعاملين في المعهد حول مائدة محبة.

 The New Academic Year 2018-2019

 On Monday September 3, 2018, the new Academic Year 2018-2019 at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology was inaugurated under the High Patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch John X, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East. His Eminence Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli, El-Koura and Dependencies presided over Vespers with the participation of V. Rev. Archpriest Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology, clergymen, faculty members and students, at Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery. His Eminence addressed the audience. He stressed on the need for the seminarians to learn well, to acquire theology and experience of spiritual life through prayer, fasting and confession. He also pointed at the great responsibility placed on the student of theology in the presence of the tide of atheism in the world today. 

 

Later, the Service of the Blessing of Water was celebrated at the Institute. Fr. Porphyrios Georgi gave a welcoming address. He relayed the blessings and love of His Beatitude Patriarch John X. He explained that the teaching of true faith is the theology of the Fathers and their experience in knowing the divine truths and living them, and testimony by word and deed to the Resurrection of the Savior in our lives. The Christian man is called upon to challenge his individualism through living in the Church and Her communal life. With the help of the Holy Spirit Who dwells in his heart, a Christian man is able to be immersed in the Body of Christ, and become a living stone in the house of God. He will enter into union with Christ and His Living Church.

 

Fr. Porphyrios stressed on the fact that since its establishment, the Institute has been striving to guide the dedicated servants of Christ and to preserve the Church’s Tradition.

 

After the address, everyone was invited to a meal at the Institute.
