زيارة المطران نيوفيطوس الى البلمند
مساء الجمعة في 23/9/2015، استضاف معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي صاحبيّ السيادة نيوفيطوس مطران مورفو في قبرص والمتروبوليت أفرام كرياكوس مطران طرابلس والكورة وتوابعها.
بداية تمّ الاستقبال على أنغام تراتيل طلاّب المعهد، ومن ثمّ أُقيمت صلاة الشكر في الدير وتخلّلتها كلمة من المطران نيوفيتوس وكلمة من رئيس الدير الأرشمندريت يعقوب خليل. من ثم توجّه الجميع إلى معهد اللاهوت، حيث ألقى المطران نيوفيتوس محاضرةً بعنوان "تاريخ العلاقة بين الكنيسة القبرصيّة والكنيسة الأنطاكيّة" مشدّدًا على أوجه التقارب بين الكنيستين والأصل "الروميّ" المشترك. شارك في المحاضرة إلى جانب طلاّب المعهد وأساتذته، طلاّب المركز الرعائيّ للتراث الآبائيّ التابع لأبرشيّة طرابلس والكورة وتوابعها.
وقد تبادل سيادة المتروبوليت نيوفيطس مع الأب بسام ناصيف الممثل لعميد المعهد الهدايا التذكارية تعبيرًا عن الصداقة والشكر.
The Visit of Metropolitan Neophytes to Balamand
On Friday September 23, 2015 the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology has welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Neophytes of Morfou (Cyprus) accompanied by his Eminence Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli, Koura and Dependencies.
The Metropolitans were greeted by the chanting of the seminarians of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. Later a prayer of thanksgiving was held at the church monastery where his Eminence Metropolitan Neophytes and Archimandrite Jack Khalil, abbot of the monastery addressed the audience.
Afterwards they all visited the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. Metropolitan Neophytes gave a lecture entitled: “The history of the relationship between the Church of Cyprus and the Church of Antioch.” He stressed on the common points between the two Churches and their common Roman origin. The lecture was attended by the seminarians, the faculty and staff members of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology in addition to students from the Pastoral Center of the Patristic Heritage in the Archdiocese of Tripoli, Koura and Dependencies.
As an expression of thankfulness and Christian love, His Eminence Metropolitan Neophytes exchanged gifts with Fr. Bassam Nassif who represented the Dean of the Institute of Theology at this event.
