محاضرة "المسيحيّة في الصين"
ألقى البروفيسور لينهاي ليو، أستاذ التاريخ في جامعة بكين في الصين، محاضرة بعنوان "المسيحيّة في الصين"، وذلك بعد ظهر يوم الجمعة الواقع في 22-4-2016 في قاعة البطريرك إغناطيوس الرابع، في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي. وذلك بحضور عميد المعهد قدس المتقدّم في الكهنة بورفيريوس جرجي وأساتذة المعهد وطلاب.
تحدّث البروفيسور ليو في البداية عن عدد المسيحيين والأديرة والكنائس في الصين، وفقاً لمجموعة من الإحصائيّات الرسميّة، موضحًا التّزايد العددي الملحوظ في أعداد المسحيين من كاثوليك وبروتستانت وأرثوذكس. ومن ثم تحدّث البروفيسور عن تاريخ المسيحيّة في الصين، وعن شخصيات وأحداث مهمّة وإرساليات تبشيرية كان لها وقعها في تاريخ نموّ المسيحيّة في الصين. وتحدّث أيضاً عن المشاكل التي تواجه المسيحيّة الآن في الصين. تكلّلت المحاضرة بعدد من الأسئلة أجاب عليها البروفيسور ليو. كما وشكر عميد المعهد البروفيسور ليو على محاضرته القيمة.
“Christianity in China”
On Friday afternoon, April 22, 2016, Dr. Linhai Liu, Professor of history at Beijing Normal University, delivered a lecture titled: “Christianity in China.” The lecture was delivered in the Patriarch Ignatius IV Hall at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology in the presence of Fr. Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Institute, faculty, staff and seminarians.
At first, Dr. Liu spoke about the Christian population, the monasteries and the Churches in China. Then he articulated the rapidly increasing numbers among Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox Christians according to official statistics. Later he spoke about the history of Christianity in China. He discussed the impact of some important personalities, events and missionaries on the growth of Christianity in China. He concluded with the present issues facing Christianity in China. Dr. Liu joyfully responded to the questions of the audience. At the end Fr. Porphyrios expressed his gratitude to Dr. Liu for his significant lecture.
