خلوة بدء الصّوم الأربعيني المقدّس
بأصواتِ النّواقيسِ الباكريّةِ لصلاةِ السّحر الخشوعيّة ابتدأت خلوةُ الصوم الأربعيني المقدّس ذاتُ الثلاثة الأيّام لطلاّب اللاهوت في معهد القديس يوحنّا الدّمشقي، والممتدّة من صباح الإثنين 23 شباط 2015 لغاية ظهر الأربعاء 25 شباط. تضمّنت الخلوةُ في يوميها الأوّلين، بالإضافة إلى صلوات السّحر والسّاعات والغروب وقانون التّوبة للقديس أندراوس وصلاة النّوم الكبرى، حديثين روحيّين شيّقين في كلّ يوم.
افتتح سلسلة الأحاديث الروحيّة سيادة المطران أفرام كرياكوس متروبوليت طرابلس والكورة بحديث بعنوان "الصوم الأربعيني في حياة طالب اللاهوت". أمّا الحديث الثاني بامتياز فألقاه قدس الأرشمندريت يعقوب خليل رئيس دير سيّدة البلمند البطريركي وأستاذ العهد الجديد في معهد اللاهوت، وكان بعنوان "الحياة في الروح بحسب الرسول بولس".
أما في اليوم الثاني فألقى قدس الأب الدكتور جورج عطيّه الأستاذ المتقاعد حديثًا عنوانه "التفتيش عن الطبيب الحقيقي". واختُتمت سلسلة المحاضرات بحديث عن "سر الموت في مفهوم القديس غريغوريوس بالاماس" ألقاه قدس الأب بورفيريوس جرجي عميد معهد اللاهوت وأستاذ العقائد فيه.
بين وجبة الطّعام وصلاة المساء، كان مجال للطلاّب للخلوة الشّخصية كلٌّ في غرفته ينصرف لصلاته وقراءاته.
أمّا في يوم الأربعاء الثالث والأخير، فتكلّلت الخلوة بالقدّاس الساّبق تقديسه "البروجزماني" عند الظّهر من بعد بدء النّهار بصلاة السّحر.
نشكر الله على هذه الفرصة النّادرة التي لا تصحُّ إلاّ لقليلٍ من المؤمنين اليوم، وعلى هذه البداية الجيّدة والمباركة لفترةٍ عنوانها التّوبة وركنها الصّلاة وهدفها القيامة، قيامةُ ربّنا يسوع المسيح من بين الأموات، له المجد إلى الأبد، آمين.
A Spiritual Retreat at the Beginning of Holy Lent
The sound of bells at Our Lady of Balamand Monastery announced the beginning of the Great Lent spiritual retreat at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. The retreat was held from Monday morning (23rd of February 2015) until Wednesday noon (25th of February 2015). In addition to Orthros Prayers, the Hours, Vespers, the Great Canon of St. Andrew and the Great Compline the program included four spiritual talks.
His Eminence Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli and Koura opened the spiritual discussions with a talk entitled: “Great Lent in the life of a seminarian.”
The second speech was presented by Archimandrite Jack Khalil, Abbot of Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery and the Professor of New Testament at the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology. His speech was entitled: “Life in Spirit According to Saint Paul.”
In the second day Father Dr. George Atiye, (Emeritus Professor) addressed the participants. He spoke on “Searching for the True Doctor.”
The Dean of the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology, Father Porphyrios Georgi, completed the reflections on spiritual life by a talk on “The Mystery of Death in the thought of Saint Gregory Palamas.”
Between meals and collective prayers the Seminarians enjoyed their time in seclusion, private reflections and reading. The retreat was concluded by the service of Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.
We give thanks to the Lord for this opportunity. We thank Him for this blessed beginning. We pray that this Lent brings reconciliation. May it be an occasion for spiritual renewal and prayer. May it be a Resurrection, the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Glory be to Him now and ever, Amen.
