احتفالات عيد معهد القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقي اللاهوتي.
احتفل معهد القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقي اللاهوتي – البلمند بعيد شفيعه من 4 إلى 6 كانون الأوّل 2015.
مساء الجمعة 4 كانون الأوّل، محاضرة عن "العناصر الليتورجيّة عند القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقي" ألقاها قدس الأرشمندريت د. دمسكينوس الكعدي.
مساء السبت 5 كانون الأوّل، احتفلت عائلة المعهد بصلاة غروب احتفاليّة في كنيسة رقاد السيّدة في دير سيّدة البلمند البطريركي، ترأسّها المتروبوليت أفرام كيرياكوس (مطران طرابلس والكورة وتوابعهما). وتلا الغروب حفل تخريج طلّاب برامج معهد اللاهوت للتعلّم عن بعد. تخرّجت الدفعة الأولى من برنامج SOFIA لدراسات الكتاب المقدس باللغة الاسبانيّة، بالإضافة إلى طلّاب برنامج CBB(باللغة الاسبانيّة) الذي أتمّ سنته العاشرة، وبرنامج الكلمة (باللغة العربيّة). تخلّل الحفل تسليم "جائزة أساتذة المعهد" للخرّيج المتفوّق سيمون حدّاد (2014 – 2015). وكانت كلمة الخرّيجين للراهب ثيوذوروس صوصو (من بطريركيّة الاسكندريّة وسائر أفريقيا) والذي حضر خصّيصًا من القاهرة للمشاركة في هذا الاحتفال، ثم كلمة عميد المعهد قدس الأب بورفيريوس جرجي. قدّمّت جوقة المعهد، بقيادة الأستاذ جيلبير حنّا، باقة من تراتيل عيد القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقيّ والتراتيل ميلاديّة. واختُتِم الحفل بمباركة المتروبوليت سلوان أونر (مطران إيرلندا والجزر البريطانيّة).
صباح الأحد 6 كانون الأوّل، اجتمعت العائلة البلمنديّة في خدمة القدّاس الإلهي في دير سيّدة البلمند التي ترأسّها المتروبوليت سلوان أونر. وتلا الخدمة الإلهيّة، مائدة محبّة للأساتذة والموظّفين وعائلاتهم والطلاّب والخرّيجين من برامج التعلّم عن بعد. وقدّم العميد في ختام مأدبة الغذاء هديّةً، صليب بركة، للمتروبوليت سلوان أونر لمناسبة انتخابه مطرانًا على إيرلندا والجزر البريطانيّة، معايدًا إيّاه في عيد القدّيس نيقولاوس العجائبي (6 كانون الأوّل) شفيع رؤساء الكهنة.
The Patronal Feast Day at Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology
Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology has celebrated its patronal feast day between the 4th and the 6th of December 2015.
On Friday evening, December 4, 2015, Archimandrite Dr. Damaskinos Al Keady presented a lecture titled “The Liturgical Elements in the Writings of Saint John of Damascus”.
On Saturday evening, December 5, 2015, the Balamand family celebrated the Vespers at the Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery. The Service was presided by His Eminence Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli and dependencies. This was followed by the graduation ceremony of the Institute’s students enrolled in the various distance learning programs. Among the graduates was the first promotion from the CBB program, in addition to the students of SOPHIA, and KALIMA programs. During the ceremony Simon Haddad was granted the distinguished graduate award of the faculty. The alumni graduation speech was addressed by monk Theodoros Sousou (Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa). Then the Dean of the Institute addressed the audience and the graduates. During the ceremony the Choir of Saint John of Damascus, headed by Mr. Gilbert Hanna, chanted a set of hymns from the service of Saint John of Damascus. The ceremony was concluded by the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan of Ireland and the British Isles.
On Sunday morning, December 6, 2015, His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan presided over the Divine Liturgy of the feast. The service was followed by a banquet at the Institute of Theology, where the Balamand family and the fresh graduates had their lunch together. At the end Fr. Porphyrios presented a Blessing Cross to His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan on the occasion of his election as Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland.
