حفل التعارف في معهد اللاهوت
ببركة صاحب الغبطة يوحنا العاشر بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق الكلي الطوبى، أُقيم حفل تعارف للسنة الجديدة 2016 – 2017، في مساء الثاني عشر من أيلول في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي. وذلك بحضور صاحب السيادة الأسقف إغناطيوس سمعان أُسقف قيصريّة الجزيل الاحترام والذي يرعى الكنيسة في فنزويلا. وبمشاركة عدد من أساتذة المعهد والأب العميد، والطلاب وجميع العاملين في المعهد.
ابتدأ الحفل بكلمة ألقاها صاحب السيادة، تحدث فيها عن رسالة الفرح الموجودة في المعهد مستشهدًا برسالة بولس الرسول إلى أهل فيلبي. وتحدث أيضًا سيادته عن أهمية تعلم الطالب الوسائل الناجعة في البحث عن المعلومات وطلب العلم.
بعد ذلك قام طلاب كل أبرشية بالتعريف عن أنفسهم بطرق متعددة كالأفلام والمقطوعات الغنائية القصيرة. وتم اختتام الحفل بكلمة ألقاها عميد المعهد الأب بورفيريوس جرجي، كما أنّه كرَّم الطالب المتخرّج نقولا الشامي لتفوّقه في العام الدراسي الفائت ونيله "جائزة اساتذة المعهد للسنة الدراسية 2016 – 2017".
Orientation Ceremony at the Institute of Theology
Under the High Patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, the orientation ceremony (Fall 2016-2017) of the enrolled seminarians was held on Monday evening September 12, 2016 at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. His Grace Bishop Ignatius Semaan of Caesarea, who serves in Venzuela, was present as special guest with the staff, faculty members and seminarians of the Institute.
His Grace blessed the ceremony. He spoke to the participants about the message of joy present in the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Philippians and reflected at the Institute. He also spoke about education and the importance of learning effective research techniques.
Afterwards the students of each diocese introduced themselves through short sketches, videos and songs. At the end Father Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Institute concluded the ceremony. He honored the graduating student, Nicolas Chami for achieving the prize of Faculty for the year 2016-2017.
