ندوة توقيع كتاب "لئلّا تضيع الحقيقة"
ببركة صاحب الغبطة البطريرك يوحنّا العاشر الكليَّ الطوبى والجزيل الاحترام وبمشاركة صاحب السيادة المتروبوليت سابا اسبر الجزيل الاحترام، راعي أبرشيّة بصرى وحوران وجبل العرب، وقدس الأب بورفيريوس جرجي عميد معهد القديس يوحنّا الدمشقيّ اللاهوتيّ، والأستاذ جورج نحاس نائب رئيس جامعة البلمند وعميد كليّة علوم المكتبات وإدارة المعلومات، أقيمت ندوة توقيع كتاب "لئلّا تضيع الحقيقة" للأستاذ جورج غندور وذلك في القاعة الأثريّة في دير سيدة البلمند البطريركيّ، يوم السبت الواقع في 11 شباط 2017. قدَّم للندوة الآنسة نانسي نجار حيدر.
كانت البداية مع صاحب السيادة الذي ذكر بعض المميزات التي يتمتع بها الدور الأنطاكي في الكنيسة الأرثوذوكسيّة، كالبعد الرعائي الذي يتجسد في مشاركة شعب الله في أي اجتماع أرثوذكسي، والتشديد على أهميّة الوحدة المسيحيّة الأرثوذكسيّة، والموقف الانطاكي الذي يرى ويقرأ كل شيء بتحرر من أعباء التاريخ. ومن ثم تحدَّث الأب بورفيريوس الذي أوضح من تاريخ الكنيسة أن بعض المجامع لم تقبلها الكنيسة أو تعترف بها كمرجعيّة كنسيّة وكسلطة عقائديّة ملزمة. وأشار إلى أنَّ هاجس السلطة العالميّة في الكنيسة يضرب خصوصيّة الكنيسة المحليّة. ومن ثم تحدَّث الأستاذ جورج نحاس الذي أكَّد أنَّ أهم إشكاليات مجمع كريت تقع في جدول الأعمال وطريقة مقاربة ما ورد فيه. وفي الختام تحدَّث الأستاذ جورج غندور، مؤلف الكتاب، الذي ذكر بعض مميزات كتابه وتوجّه بالشكر لغبطة البطريرك ولكل من ساعده في هذا العمل ولقدس الأرشمندريت رومانوس الحنّاة رئيس دير سيّدة البلمند البطريركي وللحضور الكريم.
Seminar and Book Signing: “Lest the Truth is Lost”
Under the high patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, and the participation of His Eminence Metropolitan Saba Esber of Bosra Hauran and Jabal al-Arab, Protopresbyter Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology and Dr. George Nahas, Vice President of the University of Balamand in charge of planning and educational relations and Dean of the Faculty of Library and Information Studies, a seminar and book signing event of “ Lest the Truth is Lost” by Dr. Georges Ghandour was held at the Great Hall of the Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery on Saturday February 11, 2017. The event was presented by Mrs. Nancy Najjar.
At first, His Eminence mentioned some characteristics of the Antiochian role in the Orthodox Church, such as the pastoral dimension which is reflected in the involvement and contribution of the people of God in any Orthodox gathering. He also emphasized on the importance of Orthodox Christian unity and the Antiochian position which sees and reads freely, that is without carrying the chains of history. Then Fr. Porphyrios explained that in the history of the church many councils were rejected, and their ecclesiastical reference and dogmatic authority were not recognized. He also noted that preoccupation with matters related to the universal power in the church impedes the uniqueness of the local church. Dr. George Nahas affirmed that the greatest problematics of the assembly of Crete were in its agenda and the approaching method of its content. At the end, Dr. Ghandour presented some features of his book. He expressed his gratitude to His Beatitude, to Archimandrite Romanos El Hannat the Abbot of the Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery, and all those who assisted in this work.
