During his visit to His Beatitude John X, the Patriarch of Antioch and All East , and to the Institute of Theology at Balamand, Rev. Professor Iona Sauca, the Acting Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, delivered a lecture, at the Institute of Theology, on Wednesday December 15 in the Patriarch Ignatius IV Hall. His lecture was titled: “The Church Beyond our Boundaries and the Ecumenical Vocation of Orthodoxy”. Archimandrite Jack Khalil, the Dean of the Institute of Theology as well as Dr. Elie Karam, the Dean of the Issam Fares Faculty of Technology, faculty members, and students were present. Following the lecture, an interesting discussion took place about the ecumenical movement and the role of witness that the Orthodox Church carries .
