Prof. Irfan Shah from Georgetown University delivered a lecture on the importance of studying the era from the fourth till the sixth century in order to rediscover the role of Arab Christians in the East. Dr. Shahid gave astonishing examples and citations taken from Arab poets revealing important facts about the large spread of Christianity in Arabia.
Prof. Irfan Shah received his B.A. from Oxford University in Classics and Graeco-Roman History and his Ph. D. from Princeton University in Arabic and Islamic Studies. He has been the Oman Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University since 1982.
