His Eminence Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou (Cyprus) visited Balamand, as part of his visit to Lebanon, being the guest of the Archbishop of Akkar, His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios.

Upon his arrival to Balamand, the bells of the monastery were rung, and the abbot, His Grace Bishop Ghattas welcomed the delegation and toured with them inside the monastery.

After lunch, there was an exchange of gifts. His Eminence thanked Bishop Ghattas for his distinguished hospitality, praying the Lord to keep His Beatitude Patriarch Ignatius IV, who had the vision of establishing this theological and educational institution, for many years.

As for His Grace Bishop Ghattas he expressed his joy in welcoming again the guests, and relayed the blessing of His Beatitude to the delegation, wishing them a fruitful stay in Lebanon. 

 

 

زار المتروبوليت نيوفيوطوس منصوراس مطران مورفو في جزيرة قبرص دير سيدة البلمند البطريركي ومعهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي على رأس وفد كنسي، وذلك ضمن زيارته للبنان تلبية لدعوة من المتروبوليت باسيليوس منصور راعي ابرشية عكار وتوابعها.

لدى وصول المطران نيوفويطوس الى دير البلمند قرعت الأجراس ورحّب رئيس الدير الأسقف غطاس بضيفه. وكان  للمتروبوليت نيوفيطوس كلمة أكّد فيها على عمق الروابط التي تربط دير البلمند ومعهد اللاهوت فيه بكنيسة قبرص، رافعاً الدعاء لصاحب الغبطة البطريرك إغناطيوس الرابع "صاحب الرؤية الكنسية القديرة" ومؤسس معهد اللاهوت وجامعة البلمند.

وبعد الغداء، تم تبادل الهدايا، كما عبّر الأسقف غطاس عن فرحه لزيارة الوفد القبرصي، ناقلاً بركة صاحب الغبطة البطريرك إغناطيوس الرابع، ومتمنياً للوفد زيارة موقفة.
