المؤتمر الدولي للمعهد الالماني للابحاث الشرقية في ضيافة البلمند
يوم السبت الواقع في 4 تموز 2015، استقبل معهد اللاهوت في البلمند المؤتمر الدولي للمعهد الألماني للأبحاث الشرقية بالتعاون مع جامعة البلمند في يومه الثالث والأخير.
كان عنوان المؤتمر:" الملائكة والبشر ، طبيعة الكائنات السماوية ودورها ووظيفتها في الشرق الأدنى والتقاليد الإسلامية". وكان محور اليوم الاخير بعنوان: " التطور المرئي والنصّي: التسمية الملائكية والايقونة."
ألقى المحاضرات الأساتذة: : كارين روردرانز (تورونتو)، سارا كوين (مارسيليا-بيروت)، ندى الحلو (بيروت) ويوكا كادوا (واشنطن). وحل ضيف شرف، العالم الكبير البروفيسور يوزف فان إس، أستاذ الدراسات الاسلامية واللغات السامية في جامعة توبيغن، ألمانيا. وقد ترأست الجلسات الدكتورة سعاد سليم (البلمند).
بعد ختام المؤتر قام المشاركون بزيارة دير سيدة البلمند الأثري.
The Last Day of The International Conference organized by The Orient Institute Beirut and Hosted by Balamand.
The Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology on Saturday July 4, 2015 the international conference organized by the German Institute of Oriental Research (OIB) in collaboration with the Institute and the University of balamand.
The conference was titled: “Angels and Mankind: Nature, Role and Function of Celestial Beings in Near Eastern and Islamic Traditions.” On this last day of the conference the lecturers focused on the axis labeled: “Visual and Textual Evolution: Angelic Nomenclature and Iconography.”
The lectures were presented by Karin Ruhrdranz (Toronto), Sara Kuehn (Marseille/Beirut), Nada Helou (Beirut) and Yuka Kadoi (Washington).
Professor Josef Van Ess Emeritus Professor of Islamic Studies and Semitic Languages, University of Tübingen, Germany was the guest honor. The sessions were presided by Dr. Souad Slim (Balamand).
At the end of the conference a tour guide was organized for the participants to visit and explore the historical Monastery of our Lady of Balamand.
