In the occasion of the feast of St John of Damascus, Deacon Stephan Toma delivered a lecture in the Patriarchal Monastery of Balamand on the great Romanian Theologian Father Dumitru Staniloae. The lecture was attended by His Grace Bishop Ghattas and the students of the Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand.

Fr Dn.. Stephan holds a PhD in Theology. His thesis concentrated on Staniloae's theology and person. He occupies the position of advisor on foreign relations to the Archbishop of Transylvania of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Romania

  

مساء الخميس في 9 كانون الأول 2010، وضمن إطار التعييد لشفيع معهدنا القديس يوحنا الدمشقي، وببركة وحضور رئيس الدير وعميد المعهد سيادة الأسقف غطاس هزيم، ألقى الشماس الدكتور استيفان لوتشيان توما محاضرة في دير سيدة البلمند البطريركي بعنوان "الأب ديمتري استانلواي (1903 1993 )، الإنسان ومساهمته اللاهوتية".

والشماس هو مستشار رئيس أساقفة ترانسيلفانيا للعلاقات الخارجية، ومؤلف كتاب "التقليد الآبائي والعالم المعاصر في كتابات الأب ديمتري استانلواي". له العديد من المقالات العلمية المنشورة، وهو في طور إصدار كتاب ثان هو "دراسة مقارنة في مفهوم الخلاص ما بين أنسيلموس كانتربري والقديس أثناسيوس الإسكندري".
