Institute of Theology

In the occasion of the feast of St John of Damascus, the patron Saint of the Institute of Theology, a delegation from the Monastery of Simonopetras in Mount Athos visited Balamand. The delegation was headed by the Archimandrite Elisha, the Abbot of Simonopetras, and four other monks. The delegation celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Balamand, presided by His Grace Bishop Ghattas Hazim, the Abbot of Balamand Patriarchal  Monastery and the Dean of the St John of Damascus Institute of Theology.

 Father Elisha gave a speech to the students on the Principles of Spiritual Life, followed by a discussion period.

بمناسبة عيد شفيع المعهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقيّ، أمّ دير البلمند البطريكيّ وفدٌ من دير سيمونس بيتراسمن الجبل المقدّس. تألّف الوفد من رئيس الدير الأرشمندريت أليشع، وأربعة رهبانٍ آخرين. شارك زوّارنا في غروب السبت، وأمّا نهار الأحد فقد احتفلوا بالقداس الإلهي الذي ترأسه عميد المعهد ورئيس الدير الأسقف غطاس هزيم. ومساء الثلاثاء، وجّه الأب أليشع حديثاً روحيّاً إلى طلاب المعهد حول "أسس الحياة الروحية وأهميتها في حياة الشخص المسيحي" تلاها نقاش وأسئلة من الطلاب.
